Northwest Good Deed Team Honored with National Pest Management Association “Gives Award”

The Northwest Good Deed Team received the 2019 National Pest Management Association Gives Award. The award is presented by the NPMA’s Leadership Development Group and is meant to recognize companies that demonstrate leadership through their dedication and contribution to the good of the community. The submissions were judged on selected criteria by the Leadership Development Group.

The Good Deed Team (GDT) was overwhelmed when discovering that Northwest was receiving the award, as the submission came from other teammates who felt the GDT should submit for the opportunity. As Greg Green, Co-Director of the GDT, says, “We’re just glad we get to do what we do every day. Helping people, helping our communities… that’s what it is all about. I still can’t believe our teammates surprised us with something like this. The Northwest Family is one of kind.”

The Northwest Good Deed Team was recognized with the Gives Award at the 2019 PestWorld, a summit hosted by NPMA to bring together pest management professionals. Stanford Phillips, Northwest Exterminating Co-President, accepted the award on behalf of the GDT to continue the surprise and celebrate the GDT when returning to Atlanta.

“What an honor it was to receive the award on behalf of all Northwest,” said Stanford. “The Northwest Family is extraordinary. I can’t thank Kristen, Greg, the GDT, and each Northwest teammate enough for making such an impact in our communities and for being extraordinary people. It’s inspiring to see how they put people first and look for ways to make an impact every day.”

About The National Pest Management Association –The National Pest Management Association (NPMA), a non-profit organization with more than 5,500 members from around the world, was established in 1933 to support the pest management industry’s commitment to the protection of public health, food and property. This commitment is reflected both in the continuing education of pest management professionals and the dissemination of timely information to homeowners and businesses.

About the Northwest Good Deed Team –As much as Northwest Exterminating is in the pest control business, we’re even more so in the people business. It’s that train of thinking that helped Northwest create The Good Deed Team (GDT) in 2011. The GDT is an active part of the Northwest Family that seeks out and partners with local schools, businesses, and organizations to create an impact in our communities. The GDT goal is to serve and be involved in the areas in which we live and work through simple, meaningful opportunities.
