Our Savannah, GA team is always creating ways for teammates to be involved and make a difference in their community. Recently, they hosted a First Responder Cook Out and invited all fire stations, sheriff’s office, and EMT personnel who service the Beaufort County area.
Northwest Good Deeds Team has been hosting First Responder Cookouts across the Southeast since 2017 and have hosted over 150 cookouts since our start. We look forward to them each summer and fall as our small way of saying thank you to all. The team was pleased with the amazing turn out!
Being able to host these cookouts means so much to our teammates. It’s an honor to be able to show our appreciation to our local first responders for what they do for us daily. Our Savannah teammates enjoyed this opportunity and look forward to the next one they will host. Thank you, Savannah team!
During Northwest’s Random Acts of Kindness Day, our Bonita Springs team, along with help from the Naples Service Center, made the time to put together Happy Hope Bags that were then donated to the local Ronald McDonald House.
The Happy Hope Foundation was founded in 2011 as a way to deliver hope and joy to children facing chronic and life-threatening illnesses nationwide and internationally. The purpose of the Happy Hope Bags is to engage the children in the hopes it will distract them from their long hospital stays. Our team was able to complete a box of kits for the Ronald McDonald House.
The Ronald McDonald House’s mission is to create, find, and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families. They opened their first house in 1974 after recognizing the need for parents to stay close to their hospitalized children. Today, there are 380+ homes and other programs around the world.

Our Good Deed Teams were busy in March with many of our Service Centers giving back in big and small ways. See what our teams across the southeast accomplished in March:
The Lanier team was able to partner with White Oak Learning Academy in North Georgia to donate supplies needed for the school. The team was able to donate multiple boxes of diapers.
The team was also made aware of a customer’s wife passing away, so they took it upon themselves to put together a basket of feel good items for this longtime customer.
The team was able to participate in the local Housing Authority’s Easter egg hunt. The team had a blast getting involved!
Honoring teammates is important to all Northwest teammates, but the Canton team made it a priority to celebrate a birthday! The team made pancakes and decorated the teammate’s desk for her birthday.
Our Sawyer team was able to make time to put together meals for the local Meals on Wheels. We love to see our Family of Brands give back to their local communities.

On March 9th, a group of Northwest Teammates met up at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds with 250 other volunteers to assist Feed My Starving Children (FMCS) fill boxes of food for children across the world. The Northwest team was able to complete 81 boxes and there was a total of 385 boxes overall, which will provide 83,160 meals to 227 children.
Feed My Starving Children was founded in 1987 to develop an effective and nutritious meal formula for starving children across the world. The mission is to feed starving children who are hungry in body and spirit. They specialize in international hunger due to the large number of undernutrition children.
Our team enjoyed their time volunteering for this nonprofit and can’t wait to help again. They are proud of how many children they were able to help in such a short amount of time. If you’re interested in learning more about this non-profit, visit here: https://www.fmsc.org/
The Northwest Family is ecstatic to announce that Mike Wells, Tennessee Service Professional, has accepted the 2022 Outstanding Service Professional award for the Tennessee Pest Control Association. Mike currently works for the Northwest Hermitage office as a Service Professional and has worked with Northwest for over 7 years.
Mike is an extraordinary asset to the Northwest Family. He’s an active member of the Northwest Good Deed Team, known within his team for supporting others and creating Customer for Life experiences, and has completed the Supervisor in Training leadership program. Mike is also certified and licensed in Wildlife Management, a certification he sought and upkeeps on his own due to his love of animals. Most importantly, Mike is a teammate who everyone can count on and always goes the extra mile! It’s incredible to see his talents and passion recognized by other organizations, as every member of the Northwest Family is inspired by him and his commitment to service.
Mike has previously received the Northwest Teammate of the Year Award three separate times. He was also the runner up to the NPMA (National Pest Management Award) Residential Service Professional of the Year (2022) Award.
Mike accepted the Outstanding Service Professional award amongst his managers and peers, including Regional Manager Blake Harston, Managers Billy Cox and Clinton Ford, and peers George Simpson and Blake Southerland, all Northwest teammates.
Talking to any of Mike’s managers, anyone would quickly realize how extraordinary Mike is, not only to his customers, but also to his teammates and community. We are thankful to have a teammate like Mike and are honored to have how great he is to be recognized by the Tennessee Pest Control Association. Congratulations, Mike!
February 17th marks the National Random Acts of Kindness Day. It’s a day dedicated to sprinkling kindness on everyone we interact with throughout the day to bring out smiles, joy, and appreciation for all. The Northwest team looks forward to this every year! In 2022, the Good Deed Team goal was to create over 1,000 acts of kindness, and the Day kicked us off to surpass this goal by nearly double before year’s end. This year, Northwest teams made it personal, looking for small ways to make a difference at their local service centers, with their local customers and teammates, and especially within their local communities.
Here are just a few of the stories we heard from our Southeast offices on what they did for National Random Acts of Kindness Day.
The Macon Northwest team took some time during the day to drop off cookies to eight local Fire Departments as a small token of appreciation for all they do for us and our communities.
Our local Dallas, GA office created customer goodie bags to say thank you to several customers we were completing service for on February 17th. The Service Professionals were able to hand deliver them to the customers.
Our local Customer Care team based in Marietta, Georgia wrote handwritten notes for teammates throughout the Southeast to spread the appreciation internally! Many teammates received these and were reminded how other teammates across the company are appreciative for all they do to support the team and customers.
Several service centers took the initiative to heart, writing thank you cards, paying for the car behind them when grabbing coffee or breakfast that morning, bringing breakfast in for their team, and more. What we love about Random Acts of Kindness Day is that it’s truly meant to celebrate any and everyone and showcases how the small things really do make the difference.
We are looking forward to next year’s Random Acts of Kindness Day, but more importantly, all the acts of kindness to come throughout 2023 as our teams look to create an impact in big and small ways this year.
One of the unique things about the Northwest Good Deed Team is the flexibility available to each of our 1,000+ teammates across the Southeast. While there are large, regional initiatives to be a part of, each team and teammate is encouraged to get involved in what matters most to them to make a difference in their local area.
Katie, the Stockbridge Good Deed Team Ambassador, spearheaded an initiative to donate supplies and food to the Butts County Animal Control. The organization supports the removal of stray, uncared for animals from the community to rehome them to proper shelters and ensure they’re cared for and become future pets. Katie dropped off dried and wet food, blankets, and other items as a donation.
We’re thankful for Northwest teammates who look for ways to support their local communities. We also appreciate all that the Butts County Animal Control does to help. We look forward to more initiatives to come this year!
January 9th was National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and Northwest’s Buford Service Center got together to bake cookies that were shared with the local Suwanee Police Department. This day was created as an opportunity to give back and thank these community members for their service.
Our team had a good time with the opportunity to support those in our community and can’t wait to come together again to give back to our local first responders.
There are other times in the year when you can show your appreciation for your local Law Enforcement. May 15th – 21st is Police Awareness Week, which is used to honor and remember those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. There are many organizations that use this time to give recognition to the fallen, and you can also reach out to your local departments to see how to can further serve those that serve us.
The Newnan Service Center came together and provided a family with gifts for Christmas. The team partnered with Coweta F.O.R.C.E to get information about a local family in need. The Newnan team was partnered with a grandmother and her two grandchildren. The grandmother provided information on what her grandchildren would want for Christmas and the team did not disappoint. They gifted new outfits, gift cards, stocking stuffers, and so much more! The family was so grateful for the assistance from the Newnan Service Center.
Coweta F.O.R.C.E is an organization that provides recovery support services to individuals and family members impacted by addiction. They were founded to provide services like peer coaching, ally support, budgeting assistance, job assistance, and even education assistance to those in need.
Our team knows how impactful big and small moments to serve are, and they were thankful for the opportunity to serve this family. The team is looking forward to supporting in the next holiday season, and they are already working on their next initiative to help their local community. We are appreciative to have teammates like our Newnan, GA team to always keep inspiring us to make a difference anywhere we can.
