The story of 24 year old Aimee Copeland has captivated not only Georgia residents but the entire nation! Aimee’s story is one of bravery, hope, faith, and strength. After a zip-lining accident on May 1, Amy developed a flesh eating bacteria that led to the loss of her left leg, right foot, and both hands. Through this horrible ordeal, Aimee and her family have remained both hopeful and positive. Aimee’s story is truly one of inspiration!!
When we heard that Pulte Homes/Del Webb Homes was putting together a team of contractors to build a wing for Aimee, we jumped at the chance to help out this family! 1,970 square feet is being added to the Copeland family home, being dubbed “Aimee’s Wing”. The addition will be completed in 40 days, just in time for Aimee’s exit from rehabilitation. 40 days may not seem long to build the addition but cannot compare to the hard work and dedication that Aimee is putting in while taking part in her rehab.
Northwest Exterminating is doing the termite pretreatment for the addition of Aimee’s Wing. We are so proud to be a part of this project. “It is an honor to be able to give back to such an inspirational young woman. She’s touched the lives of many people and we’re grateful to be a part of this project” says Randy Wilhite, Director of Builder Development at Northwest Exterminating. Aimee’s strength and courage have been an inspiration to all of us at Northwest Exterminating!

About Northwest Exterminating
Northwest Exterminating is a family owned and operated exterminating company that was established in 1951 by L.A. Phillips and his wife, Emma Lene Phillips. The company was founded on the values of honesty, integrity, and excellence. Today these values still remain the core of Northwest Exterminating as we have grown from a family of 2 to a family of over 300 team members and multiple service centers throughout Georgia and in Nashville, Tennessee. We specialize in residential and commercial termite control, pest control, mosquito control, wildlife services, lawn care, and insulation.
Northwest has been blessed with a work family of committed, hard working, and dedicated team members over the years. Through all these years, few have been better than Elmer Utley, or Mr. Utley, as he is called throughout Northwest. Mr. Utley met the Phillips family at Smyrna Church of Christ after moving to Georgia from Virginia in 1954. The Utleys and the Phillips became quite close over the years as the two families attended church together and became starters of Greater Atlanta Christian School. Louise Utley, Mr. Utley’s wife, worked at Northwest for almost 40 years before finally retiring. So it was our privilege that after Mr. Utley decided that retirement wasn’t for him, he came to work at Northwest Exterminating. 14 years later he has been an example of a hard working, kind, God loving man to all of us at Northwest Exterminating.
On Saturday, July 21, Mr. Utley celebrated his 89th birthday! At 89 years old he is still at the office bright and early (2 am to be exact) every morning. He works 40 hours a week while still taking care of his beloved Louise who has trouble going outside the house due to lower abdominal pain and macular degeneration.
Mr. Utley’s granddaughter recently submitted an article to Faulkner University’s Our Families Magazine to tell the story of her grandparent’s 69 year marriage. After we asked Mr. Utley about his 6 week courtship with Mrs. Utley he said “I wasted 6 weeks”. Their story is one to look up to, a hopeful story that we don’t always hear about.
Throughout the years, Mr. and Mrs. Utley, both of their daughters, and both son-in-laws have all been a part of Northwest Exterminating. We are lucky to have the Utley family as part of our Northwest family!

We’ve been working on something really big for our customers and we’re proud to announce that it’s finally here…GREEN ELITE!
At Northwest Exterminating, we have made a name for ourselves as the GREEN leaders in pest and termite control! So it is only fitting that our newest program allows customers to continue to GO GREEN with us! We wanted to develop a program that would benefit our customers and be an environmentally friendly solution for our environment. Many of our customers have more than one service with us. Since these services were typically on different schedules, our representatives were oftentimes making more than one trip out to a property to complete different services. Customers were also getting billed individually for each service. We knew there was a Greener way! Keeping with our “Go Green” mentality, we thought that by grouping green services like pest, termite, and mosquito, we could reduce our carbon footprint by making fewer trips to complete services, reducing fuel costs, and reducing the amount of paper that we use in our billing process…all while saving the customer money! It’s truly a WIN-WIN!
Green Elite customers get our Sentricon Termite Elimination System and NorPest Green Pest Control. Green Elite Plus customers get our Sentricon Termite Elimination System, NorPest Green Pest Control and our Green Mosquito Control services. When you are a Green Elite or Green Elite Plus customer you get the benefits of convenience billing, low monthly payments, and discounts on additional services:
We like to have fun around Northwest Exterminating! So to get our team members excited about Green Elite, we had a party!! And to spice things up a bit, we’re having a competition on which service center had the most Green Elite spirit! You can help us decide the winner by visiting our Facebook page, going to the “Green Elite Spirit” photo album and voting for the branch with the most Green Elite spirit! You are NOT going to want to miss these pictures!
