Fort Myers, FL Service Center Volunteers at The Talkin’ Monkeys Project

Having the opportunity to volunteer and serve alongside a team who cares and that you enjoy working with makes all the difference!  Recently, our Fort Myers Service Center gave time from their weekend volunteering at a sanctuary for apes and monkeys, known as The Talkin’ Monkeys Project.

The Talkin’ Monkeys Project is a home for apes and monkeys that were abandoned, abused, confiscated by the government, or even formerly used in research. This sanctuary is home to an array of educational programs and internships. The project is exclusively running on donations and volunteer work, relying heavily on the strong partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University’s students, who come to serve, learn, and even work with the network of sanctuaries worldwide.

The Northwest team was able to be a part of a big project that the sanctuary needed support with: A proposed orchard that will eventually sustainably feed the monkeys and apes. The Florida team assisted in clearing the area and planting 24 different trees and bushes. While volunteering, the Northwest team was also able to take a tour of the grounds and even feed the animal residents. It was such an honor to be able to support the Project’s mission and these animals.

The Talkin’ Monkey Project is grateful for the Fort Myers team and all that they did, even gifting the team t-shirts for all their hard work. Northwest is always looking for ways to go above and beyond to honor their customers and the community, especially in ways that our teammates feel passionate about. We are thankful for teammates who give their time to make someone’s day brighter.

Alpharetta Service Center Hosts First Responder Cookout in Roswell

Alpharetta Service Center Hosts First Responder Cookout in Roswell

Our Alpharetta team recently hosted a First Responder Cookout to give back to those who do so much for our community. The team provided the Roswell Police Department burgers, hotdogs, chips, and drinks! Overall, the cookout was a huge success, and a great turnout from our first responders.

Northwest has been hosting First Responder Cookouts across the Southeast since 2017, an initiative we look forward to every year. We have been able to host multiple cookouts this year, with even more on the way!

Having the opportunity to give back to those who have already given so much means a lot to our team. It’s an honor to show a small amount of our appreciation for all they do for us daily.

Lawrenceville GA Northwest Office Supports Local Customer with Yard Maintenace

Lawrenceville GA Northwest Office Supports Local Customer with Yard Maintenace

We are consistently reminded just how much the smallest act can have the biggest impact! Recently, a Lawrenceville teammate noticed a customer’s yard and how it needed a bit of care and attention. The teammate has established a long-term relationship with the customer and knew that caring for this lawn on the customer’s own was incredibly difficult for her. Our teammate brought the concern back to the whole team, and they came together to rake up and care for the customers yard one day after hours.

The service team and Service Center Manager all helped out and had the yard looking great by the end. The customer was thankful for the time and attention paid outside of her usual pest control service. When asked about this small act of kindness and why they went out as a team to support this customer, the Lawrenceville GDT Ambassador said, “Northwest is truly a family. We want our customers to feel like they are family as well.”

To create extraordinary experiences for our customers means noticing the small things and getting to know them personally, not just for the partnership for pest protection but also because our customers are our neighbors and community members. We’re thankful to our Lawrenceville team for taking the time to support this customer and for all they do to keep their eyes open to serve.

The annual Northwest Exterminating First Responder Cookouts are officially in full force! Every year, Northwest offices across the Southeast sponsor a First Responder Cookout in their local area to support our first responders and thank them for all they do to protect us and our communities.

The Buford First Responder Cookout was held recently, and the team had a great time hosting all those that stopped by for a burger and all the fixings. Getting a chance to have lunch and talk together is always appreciated by our team!

Thank you to all first responders who go above and beyond for us daily. We are looking forward to continuing the First Responder Cookout tradition for years to come.

Newnan Service Center Gathers Donations for the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society

Newnan Service Center Gathers Donations for the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society

Recently, the Newnan Service Center collected supplies for the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society (NCHS). The service center has worked with NCHS in the past and they are thrilled to be able to help assist in finding the dogs and cats their fur-ever homes.

The NCHS is mostly made up of volunteers and relies on donations from the community. Its mission is to eliminate animal cruelty, abuse, and neglect throughout the community through education, promoting adoption, improving awareness of spaying and neutering, and promoting respect for the lives of animals. The service center came together to collect donations including treats, paper towels, collars, toys, and more! These are just a few of the items that are always needed at the shelter.

The Newnan-Coweta Humane Society is always open to accepting donations and they even host a pet food drive every month to assist owners who need food for their pets. If you wish to learn more about how you can help NCHS, visit here.

Newnan Service Center Offers a Lending Hand to Help Clean Up Yard

Newnan Service Center Offers a Lending Hand to Help Clean Up Yard

Every year the Northwest Newnan Service Center gives a helping hand to someone in need by helping with their yard work. This year they chose to honor a long-standing customer and Navy veteran. The teammates at the Service Center always look forward to hearing from the customer and thought it was time to give back for all the times he was able to brighten our teammates’ days.

The Newnan team took time out of their Saturday to spend time with the customer and help clean up his yard. They assisted him by mowing his lawn, trimming bushes, pulling weeds, and more! The team enjoyed giving back in a small but impactful way and can’t wait to assist someone else soon.

Northwest is always looking for ways to go beyond all while honoring our customers. We are thankful for our teammates who give their time to make someone’s day brighter.

Carrollton Service Center Provides Food for Temple High School Nutrition Room

Northwest is always looking for new ways to honor our local communities. Recently a member of our corporate office, Katie Anderson, saw a Facebook post made by the new Temple High School football coach alerting the community of a need for donated food items for some of his players.

Katie reached out to the Carrollton Service Center’s Good Deeds Ambassadors, Kathryn Daniels and Molly Brown, to see what could be done.  The Service Center came together to collect and donate multiple food items. Items included 30 packs of tuna,  60 packs of oatmeal, three packs of paper plates, 4 containers of silverware, 15 jars of pasta sauce, 14 boxes of pop tarts, 33 boxes of pasta, and more! This large donation was able to help all of these local teens gain access to food that they might not have had before.

We are so thankful for our extraordinary teammates who look for opportunities to make a difference and give back to those in their community.

Northwest Donates Easter Basket to Savannah Children’s Hospital

Northwest Donates Easter Basket to Savannah Children’s Hospital

Our Northwest Team is always looking for ways we can make a difference in our communities and to those who live in them. Continuing their long-standing partnership with the Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah, our Savannah Service Center came together to help the children and families celebrate Easter.

The Savannah Team called on their fellow Northwest teammates across 35+ service centers to help create and donate Easter baskets for the children at the hospital. Their original goal was to collect at least 75 baskets, but the request was tremendously met. Northwest was able to drop off 120 baskets! The collected baskets contained items such as stuffed animals, activity books, coloring books, window clings, and more!

Good Deed Team

Bringing a moment of happiness for both the children and parents meant so much to the Savannah Team. We are grateful to be able to partner with the Savannah Children’s Hospital over the years to help continue bringing joy and comfort in a small way. We are looking forward to supporting, donating, and volunteering with upcoming events and holidays.

If you would like to find out more information on the opportunities to serve the children, families, and staff at Savannah’s Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital, please visit https://memorialhealth.com/patients/pediatric-volunteering.dot.

LaGrange Service Center Offers Condolences

LaGrange Service Center Offers Condolences

At Northwest, we honor our customers’ time, health, investment, and trust in us. The customers that have been with us for years allow us to show how much we care. After news that a long-standing customer had lost her husband, the LaGrange Service Center came together to support her.

Teammates put together and donated a fruit basket to let the customer know they were thinking of her. The LaGrange team was happy to show support to their customer during this tough transition.

It is our goal to serve our customers in a way that keeps them first! We are thankful for our teammates looking for ways to go above and beyond for their community.
