Three Northwest teammates from the Newnan and Dallas Service Centers teamed up with Wreaths Across America this holiday season to honor those who have served and remember fallen military veterans by placing wreaths on various tombstones.

This event is held yearly and impacts more than 3,700 locations across the U.S. Multiple people in the area were also in attendance and wreaths were placed at every burial site. The Newnan and Dallas team teamed up to join in the nationwide ceremony at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. This cemetery is open to all members of the armed forces.

It’s incredible to witness teammates honor and serve others in ways that are important to them. We are grateful to have teammates who embody having a Servant’s Heart. The Dallas, GA and Newnan, GA teammates are looking forward to supporting more community initiatives in the future as a team.

In early December, a large crowd gathered in Rome, GA for the annual Christmas Parade. Known as one of the longest running holiday parades in Georgia, many have joined in the fun over the past 60 years. Our Dallas Service Center was able to attend this year’s parade with decorated trucks, ugly sweaters, and a holiday-themed Mouse!

Getting to be involved with the community to get ready for the holiday season is always a fun time! Our team was one of many other local businesses that we were able to sign up with and be a part of this joyous time. The Dallas team is grateful for the support they received from other teammates and the attendees of the parade.

“I am so proud of the team we have here in Dallas, and very excited about the future. This will be a yearly event for our team,” says the Dallas Service Center Manager, Shaun P. We can’t wait to see how the Dallas team continues to be involved with the local community!

Addressing the basic needs of individuals, families, and children in the Cobb and Cherokee County area is the main goal of MUST Ministries, located in Marietta, GA. Recently, our Canton Service Center stepped up in support of MUST’s mission and made homemade laundry soap for those in need.

Being able to assist in transforming even just one life is what guides our teammates in helping others. Giving back to the community in the smallest ways can lead to the biggest impacts. We are so grateful for teammates, like our Canton Team, who take the time to put others first.

Recently, our Miami Service Center participated in a walk/run with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This marks the third year they have participated in the walk/run, as they believe this is an opportunity to help create a hopeful future to end childhood cancer. Many of our teammates are passionate about not only supporting local organizations but also ones specific to supporting children, so having teammates come together from multiple South Florida service centers for such a great cause was incredible. This was the team’s first year participating in the walk/run as Northwest, and the Northwest team truly appreciated being able to support our SFL team even from states away. The Mouse was even able to make an appearance!

Our Miami team believes, “When you are there for the community, the community is there for you.” Being able to make memories while supporting St. Jude’s mission and joining many more who share the same vision is a big why behind this yearly commitment. The teammates enjoyed getting to make a difference while spending time together supporting St. Jude.
Teammates and their families from across the South Florida offices participated in the walk/run, with The Northwest Mouse making its appearance for the first time! This was the team’s first year supporting St. Jude as part of the Northwest Family. Co-Directors of the Good Deed Team, as well as other Northwest teammates came to support our South Florida team, and it was a great first event to be able to do together. We are so grateful for a team who makes time to give back to and support our local communities in big and small ways.

St. Jude has been a leader in the understanding and treatment of childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases since 1962. With multiple historical milestones under the hospital’s belt, they have been able to provide world-class service to children who suffer from unspeakable diseases. With the help of our South Florida team, the hospital was able to move a step closer to an overall cure.

After completing a customer’s service, Northwest’s local Canton Service Center team came together to further support the longtime, elderly customer with much needed yardwork. Several of the Canton, GA Service Professionals came to the customer’s home to help and clear up some potential landscaping that could create pest concerns.
Our teammates were able to trim trees back from the customer’s gutters to help prevent pests from making their way inside. While working outside of the home, they discovered a hornet’s nest and were able to safely remove it, free of charge. The smallest things can make a huge difference, and the team enjoyed taking the time to help in this small way.

Discovering these golden opportunities to shine beyond pest control continues to be important to our team. Our customers make up our community! Being able to create extraordinary experiences and make a difference for our community is why we do what we do. We’re thankful for our Canton Service Center teammates who continue to care for their customers, communities, and each other.

Hollydale Elementary in Marietta, GA, participates in monthly donation collections with MUST Ministries to provide help to the wonderful families that benefit from this charity. MUST Ministries has been providing basic needs, such as housing, food, toiletries, and more to families located in the Cobb and Cherokee County areas. They rely heavily on local donations and our Northwest team was able to assist Hollydale with this month’s MUST Ministries donation collection.

Our Northwest team collected toilet paper, feminine products, laundry detergent, shampoo & conditioner, soap, and razors! Positively impacting the community is something our team is always striving for. We can continue to be brand leaders for Northwest and hopefully leave an everlasting impression on our local communities.

Creating lasting relationships within the local community is something that Northwest was founded on. Though our purpose is pest control, we are first and foremost in the people business. When Rockvale Middle School said they needed assistance with their yearly field day, our Murfreesboro Good Deed Team stepped in.

The team collected over 20 cases of drinks, including water and a variety of soda. This will provide over 600 drinks to the students at Rockvale, making their field day an exciting day filled with hydration and fun!
We are so grateful for an extraordinary team that truly cares about the community and contributes to making a difference and putting our customers first!

Having the opportunity to volunteer and serve alongside a team who cares and that you enjoy working with makes all the difference! Recently, our Fort Myers Service Center gave time from their weekend volunteering at a sanctuary for apes and monkeys, known as The Talkin’ Monkeys Project.
The Talkin’ Monkeys Project is a home for apes and monkeys that were abandoned, abused, confiscated by the government, or even formerly used in research. This sanctuary is home to an array of educational programs and internships. The project is exclusively running on donations and volunteer work, relying heavily on the strong partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University’s students, who come to serve, learn, and even work with the network of sanctuaries worldwide.
The Northwest team was able to be a part of a big project that the sanctuary needed support with: A proposed orchard that will eventually sustainably feed the monkeys and apes. The Florida team assisted in clearing the area and planting 24 different trees and bushes. While volunteering, the Northwest team was also able to take a tour of the grounds and even feed the animal residents. It was such an honor to be able to support the Project’s mission and these animals.
The Talkin’ Monkey Project is grateful for the Fort Myers team and all that they did, even gifting the team t-shirts for all their hard work. Northwest is always looking for ways to go above and beyond to honor their customers and the community, especially in ways that our teammates feel passionate about. We are thankful for teammates who give their time to make someone’s day brighter.

Our Alpharetta team recently hosted a First Responder Cookout to give back to those who do so much for our community. The team provided the Roswell Police Department burgers, hotdogs, chips, and drinks! Overall, the cookout was a huge success, and a great turnout from our first responders.
Northwest has been hosting First Responder Cookouts across the Southeast since 2017, an initiative we look forward to every year. We have been able to host multiple cookouts this year, with even more on the way!
Having the opportunity to give back to those who have already given so much means a lot to our team. It’s an honor to show a small amount of our appreciation for all they do for us daily.
