This past holiday season, the Buford Service Center had the privilege of bringing joy and holiday cheer to children in our local community by donating filled stockings to the local Housing Authority. Each stocking, carefully prepared and packed with thoughtfulness, represented more than just a holiday gift—it reflected our commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. This act of kindness aligns perfectly with our service standard, “Make a Difference,” which encourages us to approach our work and community involvement with a servant’s heart.
The initiative showcases how small, intentional acts of care can create a ripple effect of goodwill. By contributing these stockings, we didn’t just meet a holiday need—we reinforced the values we hold dear as an organization. Serving others is at the core of what we do, and this project allowed our Buford team to extend our care beyond daily operations and into the heart of our community. It’s moments like these that remind us of the profound power of compassion and generosity.

This past December, our Acworth team proudly continued our annual tradition of spreading holiday cheer. We were honored to support Turnaround Kids Ministries, a foster home with a special Christmas donation. This year, we gifted tickets for the children to visit Pettit Creek Farms, where they could enjoy dazzling Christmas lights, meet animals, and savor festive treats like hot chocolate and s’mores. Along with the tickets, we included a gift card, hoping to bring moments of joy to the children and their caregivers.
Giving back to our community is at the heart of what we do. Knowing that these children could create some magical holiday memories means so much to us. Turnaround Kids Ministries continues to inspire with its dedication to providing a warm and supportive environment, and we are grateful to play even a small role in bringing a little extra joy to their holiday season.
We hope the kids had a wonderful time at Pettit Creek Farms, and we are looking forward to seeing photos from their visit. If we receive any pictures, we’d be excited to share their smiles as a reminder of the true spirit of giving. This holiday season, our Northwest family came together to make spirits bright for the children at Atlanta Inner City Ministry. Teammates from our Jasper and Commercial Pest – Tucker service centers, and Team Support Center teammates partnered with AIM Atlanta to serve breakfast for dinner, cookies, hot chocolate, and smiles to over 50 kids in our community. It was a joyful experience filled with connection, laughter, and plenty of holiday cheer.
Our Good Deed Team Co-Director, Kristen, led the charge in cookie decorating. While our other Co-Director, Greg, worked on making sure the breakfast for dinner hit all the marks. With a warm cup of hot chocolate in hand and holiday music in the background, the kids enjoyed every moment, creating memories they’ll cherish for years to come.
We’re grateful to AIM Atlanta for allowing us to be a part of such a special evening. At Northwest, we believe that giving back is at the heart of what we do, and this event was a reminder of the power of small acts of kindness. As the season of giving begins, the Northwest Region 1 teams from Anniston, Jasper, Opelika, Homewood, Newnan, LaGrange, Carrollton, Columbus, and Cullman joined forces in a friendly competition – ‘The Battle of the Harvest’ – this past September and October. The goal was simple yet impactful: to collect as many non-perishable food items as possible for donation to local organizations. By the end of the month, the teams had collectively gathered an impressive total of over 1,700 items, underscoring their dedication to making a positive difference in their communities.
The competition saw LaGrange leading the charge with a remarkable collection of 626 items, followed by Opelika with 550, and Newnan with 355. This effort not only reflects the commitment of these offices to support local causes but also highlights the power of collaboration and shared purpose. Each office had the opportunity to choose where their contributions would most benefit, ensuring that the collected goods directly supported their local communities.
LaGrange has chosen to donate their collected items to the community boxes in both LaGrange and Franklin. Additionally, they will provide support to the Branches of Hope homeless shelter, ensuring that their contributions reach those in greatest need. This initiative not only brought the Region 1 teams closer together but also served as a reminder of the power of collective action in fostering hope and support within the community. We can’t wait to see what our teammates can do next!

Our Commercial Pest East Cobb team partnered with the Good Deed Team to organize a school supply drive for Powers Ferry Elementary School in Marietta, GA. Understanding the importance of providing students with essential tools, both teams worked together to gather necessary supplies, including notebooks, pencils, backpacks, and art materials. This initiative aimed to show the students at Powers Ferry that their community values their education and future.
The collection process highlighted the generosity of our company and the local community. Donation stations were set up at various locations, encouraging contributions from employees, clients, and residents. The positive response quickly filled boxes with supplies, each contribution bringing us closer to our goal of supporting Powers Ferry students and teachers. The event culminated in a rewarding delivery day, where our team personally handed over the supplies, meeting the staff who expressed their gratitude.
We thank everyone who contributed to the success of this initiative, making a significant impact on young learners’ lives. As we continue serving Marietta and nearby areas, we remain dedicated to supporting local schools and reinforcing our role as a committed community partner.

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina, the Northwest Exterminating Team Support Center demonstrated remarkable agility and dedication. Within a mere three days, our team rallied to collect crucial supplies, including bottled water, baby essentials, hygiene items, and non-perishable food. This swift action was driven by an unwavering commitment to support communities in need, even those outside our usual service area.
Our efforts were significantly bolstered by our partnership with the Good Deed Team, an organization known for its community support. Together, we navigated the logistical challenges to ensure that these essential resources reached the affected areas promptly. This collaboration exemplifies the true spirit of service and community, highlighting how united actions can make a substantial difference in times of crisis.

Recently, our Lanier team, in partnership with the Northwest Good Deeds Team, proudly continued our tradition of giving back to our local heroes with our First Responder Cookouts. We recently had the pleasure of providing a hearty lunch to the dedicated men and women of the Forsyth County Fire Department. These annual cookouts are our way of expressing gratitude to those who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.
The event was filled with delicious food, warm smiles, and a strong sense of camaraderie. Our team prepared and served a variety of mouth-watering dishes, ensuring that everyone had their fill. The firefighters, always ready to respond at a moment’s notice, took a well-deserved break to enjoy the meal and engage with our team. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to show our appreciation and for the firefighters to relax and recharge.
We believe in the importance of supporting our local first responders who give so much of themselves every day. These cookouts are more than just a meal; they are a small token of our immense appreciation and respect.
