Build aerial nests in open/exposed areas (not a lot of interference from buildings, trees, etc.)

Nests may not be seen because of leaves
Threats

Nests can be large and unsightly

Strong potential for stings if the colony is located nearby or hidden by plants

Stings may be life threatening to sensitive individuals
Treatment

The nest can be located, treated with an appropriate product, and the nest removed and discarded

Baldfaced hornets are beneficial organisms and are therefore only controlled when they pose an immediate threat
