Brown-banded Cockroaches

The Brown-banded Cockroach is not frequently encountered.

Identification

• Brown-banded cockroaches are a nymph-like shape, but possess the wings of an adult

• Light tan and with two lighter transverse bands running across the base of the wings and the abdomen

• 1/2 to 5/8 inches long

Environment

• Does not require a close association with moisture and humidity like most common cockroach pests

• Brown-banded cockroaches may be found throughout a house, usually hiding behind pictures and wall hangings

Threats

• Brown-banded cockroaches are frequently transported in furniture
