Oriental Cockroaches

Identification

• Oriental Cockroaches’ wings are short (do not reach the end of the abdomen) and almost completely absent in the female

• Shiny dark brown to black

• 1-1.25 inches long

Environment

• Oriental Cockroaches prefers cool, moist habitats

• Commonly found in extremely filthy areas around sewers, dumpsters, or other types of organic refuse

Threats

• Oriental cockroaches are not common in homes

• May move indoors during colder months seeking warmer temperatures and food through openings in the foundation

Treatment

• Granular bait applications to exterior perimeter

• Gel baits in or around drains and in basements
