Chipmunks

Identification

• Chipmunks are small squirrels, tan and brown in color with dark and light stripes

• Attracts attention by making a continuous series of high-pitched chirps with its tail flipping from side to side

Environment

• Chipmunks are active during the day and sleep in their underground burrows that they will create in your yard

• Spends much of its time hunting for food

Threats

• Homes with gardens, flowers, bird feeders, pet food, or nut trees are likely targets for chipmunks

• Infestation can occur rapidly

• Can damage electrical and cable lines and AC pipes
