Identification

• Large snake (most 3-5 feet long, can be 6+ feet)

• Coloration varies depending on region, can be black, yellow with stripes, or gray with darker patches

Environment

• Found in semi-protected areas such as woods, over grown vegetation, swamps, abandoned or vacant buildings, etc.

• Found throughout the southeast

Threats

• Peace of mind

• May climb for food

• May bite if handled (non-venomous)

Treatment

• Keep food sources away from the home

• Preventative treatment with a product that snakes find repellent
